The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles

Sorry I haven’t posted yet!  I was a little distracted!  The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles is about siblings Ben, Tom, and Lindy Potter (No connection to Harry Potter), who meet Professor Savant at the zoo.  He tells them all about the magical world of Whangdoodleland and the creatures that live there, and asks if they would like to visit.  They all decide to go, but the way to Whangdoodleland isn’t easy! They have to see things in an entirely different way. And once/if they make it they have to get past evil, “oily” Prock, the sinister prime minister of Whangdoodleland ! This is a good book for girls/boys. The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles has a lot in common with The Neverending Story so if you liked that try this!

This Totally Bites!

This Totally Bites! By Ruth Ames

This Totally Bites! is one book in the Poison Apple series, but you don’t have to read them all! However I recommend you do. Their stories are not connected in the least, except they are all fairly scary!

This Totally Bites! is a book about 12-year-old Emma Rose Paley, a girl who has always felt slightly different from her parents. Like most parents, Emma’s like daytime, sun, bright colours and pastels.  But, she loves night time; storms, dark colours and red (NOT pink). One day, her Great Aunt Margo visits from Romania, and Emma has a realization: Could she be a real, un-dead, vampire? This is a good book (and series!) for girls because that’s who it’s about: girls! I honestly didn’t have a favourite part either!!!  (I normally do.)

P.S: There is a very unexpected vampire!

The Neverending Story

I have read too many books to write about them all so I thought I would start with one of the latest books I have read – The Neverending Story by Michael Ende.

The Neverending Story

This book is about a boy named Bastian Balthazar Bux who, like me, loves to read.  I don’t want to give away everything, especially not the ending, but he gets “The Neverending Story” from Mr. Corianders bookshop.  He becomes a character in the book while reading and has to save the world Fantastica and the characters inside.  The beginning was very slow.  It took me a while to get interested in it.  But keep on reading, it is worth it!  It is a well-written book that is very descriptive. My favourite character in this book was the Childlike Empress.  This is a good book for both boys and girls.  My parents always encourage me to watch the movies after the book. Usually I like the books better but this time the movies (parts 1 & 2) were pretty cool too!
