The Name of This Book is Secret

The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch

Sorry I haven’t written lately, I was sick before Christmas and then during Christmas I got sucked into this book, “The Name of This Book is Secret”, on my new AMAZON KINDLE  that Santa gave me!  My mom and dad gave me a protective teal case and a 3-setting book light for it.

This is a weird book because, not only does the author use a pen name, or “pseudonym”, (as the author’s name suggests) but he also occasionally stops the story, saying it is too dangerous for him to continue and too dangerous for the reader to discover more secrets within the book.  For example, at one point he stops the story and proceeds to snack on a piece of chocolate; however, the story always goes on!

This is the first book in the series called “The Secret Series”, the second book, which I’ve already read is called “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and I am waiting to download the third book called “This Book Is Not Good For You”.  The main character in “The Name of This Book is Secret” is Cassandra, who eventually befriends a boy named Max-Ernest.  (For more info on why he has two names; you’ll have to read the book!)  Cassandra and Max-Ernest find a strange box with vials and very peculiar music sheets entitled The Symphony of Smells, which lead them to the story of the Bergamo Brothers; a duo of Italian magicians.  As the story unfolds, we find a disturbing couple, a suspicious spa, a secret organization, and a huge secret.  Can Cass and Max-Ernest save the world from the notorious Midnight Sun?

My favourite character is Cass, the doom-predicting survivalist who is constantly “crying ‘wolf’.”  I also enjoyed that at the end of the book is a section containing recipes, like Cass’s Super Chip Trail Mix, and experiments such as Grandpa Larry’s Homemade Compass.
