Violet in Bloom

Violet in Bloom by Lauren Myracle

Violet in Bloom

Hi again! Sorry I did not post, I got busy after Easter.

This is book two, and I think there are three books in the Flower Power series. I haven’t read the first book in the series please tell me if you have read it and if you liked it! I have read only this book, and you don’t need to read them in order.

Lauren Myracle is the author of Ten, Eleven, Twelve, etc., and the Internet Girls series for older girls.

In this book, we meet four girls: Yasaman (or Yaz), Camilla, Violet, and Katie-Rose. They have pretty much nothing in common except their names, which are all flowers. Fast forward through one book (and one month!) and they are Flower Friends Forever (FFFs)!

In the second book in the Flower Power series, Yasaman discovers that Cheezy D’Lites, a Cheetos-like snack that Rivendell Elementary serves for morning snack, are full of trans fats, and contain no actual cheese! The FFFs are determined to get rid of them, but many things will happen to keep the girls from the Cheezy Revolution, like Natalia (an acquaintance of Katie-Rose’s,) stealing Yaz, or an incident involving Camilla, her crush, Max, chunky boots, and a squished hamster. But the girls will triumph! Or will they…

I love this book! It was entertaining and contained some situations to which girls my age can relate. My favourite character is Katie-Rose. We have so much in common, like realizing that trying to impress popular people is not a good thing. When people are not nice to you, you should just move on, just like we did! This book is a definite must-read for girls ages 9-12. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
